heads or tails – you already know

Hearing from your intuition
the answer
to a question you want to ask
just to hear the answer
from someone else
is the same as
holding a coin in your hand
assigning heads to one option
and tails to another
flipping the coin in the air
and realizing
before you catch it
what you’re hoping for.

Stop seeking validation.
You already know your answer.
Go and live it.

the energy of a different wind

Upon receiving external validation
for my thoughts,
for my behavior,
for my existence,
a new wind gusts into my sails.

Fresh momentum to fuel my journey
across the ocean,
a newfound confidence
swims up to the surface
assuring me of an accurate voyage.

I learned to feel it
I learned to seek it
I learned to wait for it.

Trusting the energy
of a different wind
take time.

no more boxes

I grew up believing
in the black-and-white of right-and-wrong,
the this-or-that,
the all-or-nothing.

As I chase validation
I see my fear of living outside the box
as deviation.

I see now,
it becomes clear,
the opportunity to see continuums
rather than boxes.

What is right, or what is wrong,
depends on your perspective.

What is black, or what is white,
depends upon the shade of your glasses.

I want to live
in a space so vast I cannot see the walls,
with colors and sounds and open boxes
scattered, their contents spilling,
where everything is right, is accepted,
in any given moment.
